Hi there! and Welcome to Silver Vixen's Off-Road!!

In 2020, Covid really rocked our world. As the lockdowns took place we lost access to a lot of products and services. One of which was.......the salon!!! Decisions had to be made. Do we risk buying a box of hair color and take our chances with a DIY touch-up or do we "let it go"? We both decided to liberate ourselves from constant coloring and embrace the gray!! Now, 4 years later, we have come together for some epic off-road adventures. With a little creative genius from Jennifer's husband Matt, Silver Vixen's Off-Road was born!!!

We are women who off-road, work on cars, travel, and enjoy the adventures of life! This site is where we celebrate the spirit of adventure, a zest for life, and all things that make us wonderfully unique. Join us as we share stories, tips, and experiences that will hopefully inspire women to explore, learn, and conquer new horizons. Our community is a place where like-minded women come together to support, learn from, and uplift each other. Whether you're a seasoned off-road enthusiast, a DIY car mechanic, a travel aficionado, or someone seeking new experiences, Our Site is the hub for you. Jennifer and Sheila came together with one thing mind, give everything 100%, do the very best you can and never back down from a challenge. While they share similarities, their individuality and uniqueness are great compliments to each other which makes them a great team!!

Driver / Navigator

Jennifer Shanahan

Jennifer has lived in 7 cities within 3 US states. She currently makes her home in Austin, Texas
with her husband of 24 years, Matt, and their son Aiden who attends Texas State University. For the last
eight years she has devoted her life to being a homemaker, loving wife, mother and caregiver to her
parents. In January 2024, she decided it was time to get back into the workforce and she joined the
Round Rock ISD Print Shop as an administrative assistant. As a young girl she developed a passion for horses which lead to volunteering in a program that utilizes rescued horses for therapy in children. Her
and her family also support local animal shelters through donation of supplies and time by rescuing and caring for numerous dogs. Jennifer decided that learning how to use power tools would be a beneficial skill, so she taught herself the art of woodworking. As a result, she has not only built things for her own home, but for her family and friends as well. In 2017, she decided to trade in the “mom SUV” and
purchase herJeep Wrangler JKU. With paper tags on her jeep, she hit her first off-road park and the addiction to the adventures of off-road began. She has expanded her stable to include a truck and trailer
making it easier to take on the challenging trails across Texas, Missouri, and as far away as Wyoming without worrying about how she will drive it home. Jennifer strives to always learn knew skills or try new things as a way to better herself and keep forward progress in personal growth. When Sheila reached out to propose a partnership for the 2025 Rebelle Rally, Jennifer gave a resounding “YES” and jumped in head first to start training and preparing for this epic adventure. Her enthusiasm, attention to detail,
deliberate focus, and ability to take on complicated tasks in challenging environments makes her a
natural Rebelle.

Driver / Navigator

Sheila Dolbow

Sheila grew up in a small town in South Texas and moved to the Austin area in 2007. She currently resides in Smithville. She holds a master's degree in nursing with a background in trauma and forensics. She currently works for the state hospital association where she leads quality improvement activities for hospitals all across Texas. Sheila puts her professional skill to use through work in disaster response in the form of search, rescue and recovery support. She was involved in response to events such as Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Ike, Hurricane Harvey, and local flooding disasters. Most recently, she was in Houston to assist with clean-up after Hurricane Beryl. She is no stranger to the outdoors. As a kid she grew up working cattle, competing in rodeo, camping with family and became an avid hunter. She bought her first Jeep in 2014 where she found her passion for hitting off-road trails. She is an active participant in the Jeep community through participation in various charity events such as Wheelers for The Wounded where off-road enthusiasts use their vehicles to take wounded veterans and their families out for a day on trails. Some other events are delivering meals to homebound individuals on holidays and supporting military families with toy drives and delivery. She has developed strong technical driving skill and isn’t afraid to tackle the most challenging obstacles. She elevated her off-road game in 2020 with the purchase of rear-steer tube chassis buggy that makes large obstacles see like speed bumps. In 2021, she purchased her Gladiator Rubicon with the Rebelle Rally in mind. Having competed twice in the Rebelle Rally (2022 &2023) she has also competed in the Nomad Overland Virtual Rally coming in 3rd place in 2023. Her tenacity, competitive nature, and strong drive are all qualities that always get her to the finish line.
